Breath Alcohol Technician Student Handbook This handbook is the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) training manual for students: this handbook is for use in preparing BATs to conduct breath alcohol tests in accordance with the 49 CFR Part 40 of the U.S Department of Transportation's Alcohol Testing Procedures. This is not a self taught guide and must be used in conjunction with instructor led training.
Breath Alcohol Technician Instructor Handbook This handbook is the U.S. Department of Transportation’s model course to train Breath Alcohol Technicians (BAT) to perform breath alcohol testing in accordance with 49 CFR Part 40 of the U.S Department of Transportation's Alcohol Testing Procedures. This handbook provides a complete and detailed blueprint of the BAT course including sequence of instruction, student exercises and self testing. For use by qualified Instructors.
